Your assignment is to watch a movie of your choosing and then write a 3-5 page paper in which you relate the theories presented in that film to two of the authors we have studied this semester. A successful essay will do the following:
- Present a clear thesis.
- Clearly articulate the theory or perspective of the film.
- Clearly articulate the positions of two authors we studied this semester.
- Explain how your film relates to those positions.
- Explain how the film differs from those positions.
The final draft is due on Friday, May 13. Your essay should be typed, double-spaced with 1" margins in a 10-12 point font. In addition to the final draft of the paper, You will need to complete several pre-writing assignments.Though these pre-writing assignments are ungraded, failure to complete them will result in an F on this assignment.- Friday, April 29: You will need to bring a thesis statement to class. This should include the film you will be watching and the author you will be relating the film to.
- Friday, May 6: You will need to bring three copies of a draft of your paper to class for in-class peer editing.
