Phil 102B: Final Exam Study Guide

The Final Exam will consist of three essay prompts and you will select two of them to answer. Each topic will consist of a passage and you will write an essay discussing what two philosophers would say about the topic.
  1. The first option will cover the philosophers we looked at for our introductory unit. These philosophers are: Aquinas, Hume, Kant, Mill, Aristotle, Rawls, and  Grimshaw.
  2. The second option will cover the philosophers we looked at for our unit on Drugs and Addiction. These philosophers are: Mill (on liberty), Dworkin, Szasz, the USDEA, and Shapiro.
  3. The third option will cover the philosophers we looked at for our unit on Capital Punishment. These philosophers are: The majority and dissenting opinion in Gregg v. Georgia, Kant (on retributivism), Van den Haag, Reiman, and Gelernter.
For the Final Exam you will need to bring paper to write on (a bluebook or your own notebook paper) and a writing implement (pen or pencil, it doesn't matter to me, but you should bring two).
