Hobbes' account of the sources of human conflict. The five components of Darwin's Theory of Evolution. Darwin's conception of human nature. Marx's conception of materialism. Marx's conception of the four stages of economic development and private property. Marx's conception of alienation. Marx's conception of communism. Sartre's conception of existentialism. Sartre's definitions of Anguish, Abandonment, and Despair. A sense of the significance and purpose of the epigrams in Ghost Dog. Be able to discuss the meaning and significance of some of the dramatic pairs in Ghost Dog. For the Essay you should think about elements of existentialism in the film Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai. |
