Your assignment is to watch a movie of your choosing and then write a 3-5 page paper (Honor's Students will write a 6-10 page paper) in which you explain the theory of human nature presented in that film. In writing your essay you must relate the theory of human nature presented in the film to one of the theories we have studied in class. A successful essay will do the following:
- Present a clear thesis.
- Clearly articulate the theory of human nature presented in your film.
- Clearly articulate one of the theories of human nature we have looked at in class.
- Explain how your film relates to that theory.
- Explain how the film differs from that theory.
The final draft is due on Thursday, November 6. Your essay should be typed, double-spaced with 1" margins in a 10-12 point font. In addition to the final draft of the paper, You will need to complete several pre-writing assignments.Though these pre-writing assignments are ungraded, failure to complete them will result in an F on this assignment.- Thursday, October 23 you will need to bring a thesis statement to class. This should include the film you will be watching and the author you will be relating the film to.
- Thursday, October 30 you will bring two copies of a rough draft of your essay to class for in-class peer editing.
