Extra Credit due Friday, October 22 Write a 2-3 page paper in which you examine and evaluate the Arguments and Rebuttals for and against Proposition 19 as they appear in the CA Voter Information Guide. The guide is readily available in many locations (Libraries, Post Offices, your mailbox) and can be found online at www.voterguide.sos.ca.gov. In writing your paper be sure to pay attention to the factual claims made in the argument. Are this claims true or has the Proposition been misrepresented in some way? Lastly, what is your opinion of this proposition? The paper should be typed, double-spaced in a 10-12 point legible font. Attend the Mesa College Occasional Lecture on Friday, September 17 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM in G-101. The lecture will be given by US Congressman Hon. Bob Filner and is entitled, "Arizona's SB 1070, the US Constitution & Human Rights." After hearing the lecture, write a two-page paper in which you relate the issues discussed in the lecture to one of the philosophers or ethical theories we discussed in class. The paper should be typed, double-spaced in a 10-12 point legible font. It is due in class on Friday, September 24. |
